The Best Wall Decals for a Nursery

Safety First
The first and foremost objective is to ensure any wall decals you select are safe for your child. Initially, when you bring your newborn home, there should not be an issue with decorating around the crib area. However, as your child grows and begins standing, around the 6 to the 8-month range, Wallhogs recommends no decals be installed around the crib area smaller than 3” in measurement. This will eliminate if your crib is located next to the wall, any possibility of your child peeling one of the decals from the wall, creating a choking hazard. This is also a time to ensure that any smaller decals are also placed out of range, around 36” from the floor surface around the room.
Some parents may be concerned as the majority of decals are printed on vinyl. This is true due to the cost factor and allowing parents the affordability. At Wallhogs we offer two types of wall decals, both vinyl, and woven polyester fabric. These materials both maintain a water-based adhesive that is perfectly safe for children.

What Theme, Color, Style, or Design?
As your child has not arrived yet the basic design of the room will be up to you. If you are aware of the sex this makes it much easier but if not you will need to select something neutral. Are Wall Decals Easy to Install & Remove?
Absolutely!
First, if you have recently painted the wall surface where you will be adhering the decals you must let the paint cure for 30 days prior to decal installation. Also, vinyl decals are only intended for installation onto flat, smooth, painted surfaces such as drywall or Sheetrock, however, Wallhogs fabric wall decals will also adhere to slightly textured, painted surfaces such as fine orange peel or eggshell textures.
Installation of wall decals could not be any simpler – they are an easy peel-and-stick product.
Removal of decals is just as simple – just peel them from the wall surface and if you’ve saved the carrier paper they arrived on you can place and store them on it. If you no longer have the original backing, you may use wax paper, ensuring you placed the adhesive side of the decal on the wax side.
